Mind of its own!

by Bruce Wadd

Ever chosen a shopping trolley with its own mind? You try pushing it down the supermarket aisle, but it goes where it wants. It veers into other trolleys, knocks over grocery displays, bumps into people’s ankles, and even embarrassingly scrapes cars!

Frustrating, isn’t it? It’s a constant battle to get it to go where you want it to!

Welcome to the world of humanity. Both you and I can be so much like those recalcitrant trolleys - going where we want, as opposed to where our Master desires!

When you became a Christian you entered a totally new era, one where you are working with God rather than against Him. Hidden in the submission of your will to Him is absolute freedom, total fulfilment, and incredible blessing.

Let me challenge you today to develop the mind of Christ. Jesus, even though He could escape, chose to face ridicule and death, taking all the sins of the world (yours and mine included) on His shoulders, and choosing God’s will, so that He could be reunited with His children – you and I!

Here’s His secret…

“But I want your will, not mine.”

Matthew 26:39

TODAY, are you game enough to want His will?
