I touched a scar

by Bruce Wadd

This morning I woke up and unthinkingly touched a scar on my left arm.  The skin to scar connection immediately brought to mind the circumstances surrounding that happening – a dog bite during my teenage years!

I was actually astounded at how vivid the recall was - my inbuilt video camera had pressed rewind, and then play.  Added to the sound and visuals was the impacting sensory stimulations of smell, taste and touch.  Then on top of this special video replay all the in-built emotions of the moment – a 10-second event!!

Looking back through your life, I am sure you can touch a few scars, both physical and emotional, that turn on that video camera for you.

Despite the pain of some of those memories, there is a sense of uniqueness about each event, which made you into the person that you are right now.  You are now able to empathise with others in a more effective manner.

Jesus is the same.  He too suffered.  He spent thirty three years as a human so that you could spend forever with Him.

“But he was wounded and bruised for our sins…
and we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5

TODAY, touch His scar to remind yourself of your salvation!
