Thank you isn’t enough

by Bruce Wadd

During my teenage years my parents lived in a constant state of ‘under-appreciation’ - I knew way more than these ‘old people’. I couldn’t believe how ‘naïve’ and ‘dumb’ they were much of the time!

Now in my adulthood, and having lived as an ‘under-appreciated’ and ‘unwise’ parent, I have to confess a heightened appreciation of their wisdom, patience and ongoing sacrifice that they made.

To say thank you to them for their upbringing, their sacrifices and the difficult times, hardly seems enough. It seems like I am returning to them such a meager gift for the price they have paid. But today, I stand and salute them!

Likewise, when you begin to appreciate the huge gift offered by God any thanks seems so insignificant! But God merely asks for your life in return.

Today, as you ponder His great love for you, and the many things He continues to do for you, say thank you not only with your mouth, but also with your heart! Your greatest way of showing appreciation is giving Him your life!

“But as for me, I will sing each morning about your power and mercy. For You have been my high tower of refuge,

a place of safety in the day of my distress.”

Psalms 59:16

TODAY, let your life be your greatest ‘thank you’!
