Heart longings

by Bruce Wadd

Every couple truly in love will know what I am referring.  When you are away from each other, you just can’t wait to be with each other again

During our eighteen-month engagement, my wife and I chose to begin our careers.  Having completed university, we both faced the prospect of starting new jobs, but one thousand kilometres apart.  We decided that it would be a good time to assess whether making the long-term commitment of marriage was for us.

Frequent phone calls, constant letter writing (before emails existed!), long drives and regular plane flights, became essential parts of our lives.  We just longed to be with each other, and couldn’t wait till the wedding day when we could share every day together.

Your experience with God can be the same, only much greater.  Do you long for time with Him?  Once you begin to spend time with Him, your desire for more of Him will increase.

“The one thing I want from God, the thing I seek

most of all, is the privilege of meditating in His Temple,

living in His presence every day of my life,

delighting in His incomparable perfections and glory.”

Psalms 27:4

TODAY, let your heart long for His presence!
