Contractions increase by
But the focus on birthing new offspring also brings the conversation about pain. Being a male, I profess much theoretical wisdom but little practical experience. When labour conversations occur I listen to the participants, wandering through the maze of screams, painkillers and other gory details.
Mothers speak from the wisdom of experience. You know from their dialogue that wisdom and empathy have been gained through their ordeals.
Here is the most profound statement I have heard many times. “When the contractions increase, the pain exponentially escalates to unbearable levels. But the pain fades quickly upon the baby’s arrival.”
What is causing dis-ease in your journey at the moment? How are you looking at the discomfort? Life regularly has its painful moments. The intensity of the discomfort will always link with the maturity of understanding beyond the pain.
I just wanted to affirm you in Christ, despite the pain. Let the intensity of hurt get your attention… and then meditate upon God’s description of His Son’s anguish.
“And when He sees all that is accomplished by the anguish of His soul, He shall be satisfied; and because of what He has experienced, my righteous Servant shall make many to be counted righteous before God, for He shall bear all their sins.” Isaiah 53:11
Today, celebrate the arrival of wisdom through pain!
