ADHD

by Bruce Wadd

They have such short attention spans in class, and the number of students with ADHD [Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder] seems to be increasing in epidemic proportions.

At the moment I am doing a reasonable amount of relief teaching in local schools, and every day offers new challenges and opportunities.  Most classrooms end up containing a similar mixture of quiet through to noisy, passive through to active, well-behaved to incredibly undisciplined children.

Increasingly, though, I see young children, mainly boys, sitting and fidgeting in their seats, only able to concentrate for short periods of time, and then they start getting into trouble.

These kids need to get up and do something!  Walk around, jump, chat, poke, whinge, react, disagree, be stubborn… even get upset!  What wonderful opportunities for adventure!

Yes that’s right…. often this type of child represents the next high-level entrepreneur, the incredibly astute business person, the crazy inventor etc.

I wonder, does God have some of the features of ADHD? He has so much energy, power, creativity and love, just waiting to get going, and He is willing to share that with you.

Have you invited Him into your life in a really powerful way?  Have you unleashed God, and let Him start His work with you?

“Do you want more and more of God’s kindness and peace?  Then learn to know him better and better.

For as you know Him better, He will give you,

through His great power, everything you need

for living a truly good life:”

2 Peter 1:2,3

TODAY, let God use His ADHD on you!
