Everyone I know is tired
Everyone I know is wired
To machines, it’s obscene
I’ll just scream til it don’t hurt no more.

Everyone I know is happy
But everyone I know is napping
Half the day, thrown away
But I can’t find the thrill anymore.

Maybe I’m not sure
I wanna go on, I wanna go on
Maybe I’m not sure
I wanna go on at all

Everyone I know is funny
But jokes don’t make us money
Sell our rage, buy and trade
But we still cry for free every day.

Everyone I know is bored
But everyone I know is floored
Crawl around, on the ground
Let the sound of your blood lead the way.

My desire is contagious.

  1. I keep thinking the "Take me Out" chorus is going to come in! A interesting creative turn, that 25 years into their course might make them much more popular. Also, get well Janet!

  2. Hurry On Home blew the doors off, then the rest of the singles all sound like demos or B-sides. I've seen them 4 times and got every album on release day since Hot Rock but am going to wait on this one. <:(

  3. Was about to comment about how the video gives me huge bill wurtz vibes but then I saw top comment lol
It’s so trippy and I’m so confused because it’s currently 3 am for me but wow this song is good! I’ve been listening to music on auto play and got here and I’m glad I stayed to listen!

  4. This song is awful. The vocals are so forced, and the instruments played are done so with the littlest of effort. This is on the same grounds as the band KISS in terms of musicianship. Thumbs down.

  5. This gives me the same reaction I got listening to Beck's Colors album… be blunt it screams sell out. It's very disappointing when musicians who have faithfully been true to themselves for many years throw in the towel like this and turn out over-produced generic "modern rock" that basically sounds indistinguishable from so much other so called "alternative" music of the moment that sounds anything but alternative. Sleater-Kinney have made 8 very fine albums. Sadly, I am not optimistic about number 9.

  6. The best of the 4 new songs that have been released .Still not enough of Corin on this .So as a long time S-k fan ( saw them for the first time in Berkeley May 97 for $7) I,m still divided on the new sound. But this one I like .
