Wealthy status

by Bruce Wadd

I got quite excited.  The idea of a trip to Thailand, seeing a new culture, being able to visit markets and buy lots of cheap stuff had me fascinated.  So in only a matter of six weeks my wife and I organised a twelve-day adventure of this Asian country.

As you could imagine there were many highlights, but one that stands out is the huge amount of paraphernalia available at the markets.  Clothes, jewellery, artefacts, music CDs - to name a few!   For a first-timer it was mind and eye boggling.

I had set my mind on getting a nice looking watch, and set about bartering with many different stallholders for the watch that would be mine.  I finally found an expensive looking watch, mixed with gold and silver, and it fitted my wrist perfectly. After negotiating a price, it became mine.

But here am I, weeks later, sitting and looking at my genuine ‘copy’ and realising that the ‘rubbed-off gold look’ is really cheap and nasty.  The wealthy status I had gained with this ‘expensive’ watch was temporary – cheap was beginning to show through!

Thank God that His character is not like that.  When God comes into your life you are changed from the inside out.  The initial excitement blossoms into a lifetime of richness and joy beyond belief.

“Since we know that this new glory will never go away,

we can preach with great boldness.”

2 Corinthians 3:12

TODAY, accept God’s plan for your life… experience true wealth in Him!
