A rabbit prepared

by Bruce Wadd

In Australia these days you don’t see multitudes of rabbits in paddocks.  But there was a time when you could stand on a balcony or a roadside and witness hundreds of these furry creatures eating the grass meant for commercial livestock or wildlife.

Let’s watch them for a moment!  Despite their focus on eating, they always maintain an alert status.  They have a very clear warning system that activates as soon as any possible danger is detected.  The escape route is planned, and a safe haven, a burrow or a bush, is already prepared.

Do you, as a Christian, have your alert system activated constantly?  Have you got an escape route and a safe haven prepared?  Who are your closest companions when times get rough?

Jesus gave clear instructions to answer each of these questions, because He knew how human you and I are, and how active the devil is in trying to deceive us.

“Keep alert and pray.  Otherwise temptation will overpower you.  For the spirit indeed is willing,

but how weak the body is!”

Matthew 26:41

Today, stay prepared in Him!
