I was disturbed for a moment by the arrival of a mum, her two boys and their grandfather. Within minutes I was distracted again by the fidgeting of these alive little ‘fellas’, bored by the worship proceedings.
With strong and clear boundaries established, the young child gently but firmly began pressing his face into the side of his grandfather’s textured and mature skin.
Grandpa wrapped both arms around the boy, and the young one responded with arms reaching around the head of this elder statesman. Both were in love, in relationship, safe and happy.
A beautiful picture of how you can be with God. Wrapped in His arms today, pressing into His face, in closeness only reserved for family.
“How precious it is, Lord, to realize that You are thinking about me constantly! I can’t even count how many times a day Your thoughts turn towards me.” Psalm 139:17,18

Pa gently took one of
these future men, stood him on his lap with faces only millimetres apart,
and with stern whispers informed him of the choices available.
