On the outside by
Anyone that grows these fruits, though, knows that often these blemishes mean that the fruit tastes better than the ‘perfect’ product purchased in the supermarket. It’s seems almost ironic!
Translating the same idea to people, it’s easy to look at someone and make a judgement. Yet when you take a little extra time to get to know them you often discover a wonderful heart or fascinating personality undiscovered through ‘perceived unattractiveness’.
Two things I ask you to ponder this day. Firstly, since becoming a Christian, the blemishes that are showing in your life are to be celebrated, because of God’s ability to use them for His good with others.
Secondly, don’t be trapped into accepting just the ‘nice people’. It is often the ones that rub us ‘the wrong way’ that bring out the best in us!
“Don’t judge by a man’s face or height, for this is not the one. I don’t make decisions the way you do! Men judge by outward appearance, but I look at a man’s thought and intentions.” 1 Samuel 16:9
