Evaporation

 by Bruce Wadd

Wherever and in whatever season you are reading this, let me paint a tropical summer afternoon scene for you.

As you sit, sipping a cool refreshing drink on your Queensland verandah, huge drops of rain begin falling on the blistering black asphalt on the road in front of you, sending a striking smell of hot wet tar into your expectant nostrils.

In a matter of moments the rain is teaming down, with puddles and then streams beginning to form.  The enjoyment and cool release of this summer afternoon downpour is being fully appreciated.

But the next ten minutes brings a new understanding in your thinking.  Typically, the afternoon shower is noted for its brevity, and it seems like in no time at all the rain has stopped and the sun is shining again.

The puddles form on the adjacent tar begin shrinking as the heat source increases.  Steam starts to rise, and the water that was lying around returns to the sky from where it's just fallen.

Amazing!  The power of being drawn upwards by a higher power!!!

It’s the same with our eternal God. He will always draw you towards Him if you allow Him.

“For no one can come to me unless the Father
who sent me draws him to me…”
John 6:44

TODAY, evaporate, and rise upwards to God!
