The spirit of 'Diesel'

by Bruce Wadd

Diesel! Most people immediately think of a fuel, mainly used by trucks.  But in my family’s situation this word brings delight, laughter and intrigue.

We have a dog called Diesel, and being a cattle dog, he seems to have limitless energy and personality.  He has successfully demolished most of our potted plants, chewed things lying around and eaten everything he can possibly consume, and then some.

The thing, though, for which Diesel is most admired is his unceasing enthusiasm and friendliness towards each member of the family.

Particularly in the morning, the unbridled joy of seeing us after a long night in the yard is astounding.  He jumps, whines, licks, nips, grabs…and jumps again – he's glad to see someone!

Capture your memory of the last pup you saw or had.  It’s just like Jesus’ love for you each day.  Your Saviour enthusiastically longs for time with you.  He loves you with a passion beyond understanding, and wants to be in your life.

“…for He holds our lives in His hands.

And He holds our feet to the path.”

Psalms 66:9

TODAY, let the ‘spirit of Diesel’ rule your life!
